Aarhus, Denmark, August 18, 2015 – Stibo Systems, the global leader in multidomain Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, today announced that Goodman Manufacturing Company, L.P., one of the largest manufacturers of residential and light commercial air conditioning, heating, and ventilation products and systems, has selected Stibo Systems’ STEP MDM platform to create a single source of data for product and related digital assets. As a part of the initiative, STEP will enable Goodman to establish a world-class data governance process, and reduce any risk associated with incorrect product specification data. Additionally, the system will allow Goodman to replace and update existing technology, including custom in-house applications and a multitude of Excel spreadsheets.
While the initial interest was focused on data consistency tied to Goodman’s extensive product line comprised of thousands of unique SKU’s, Stibo’s team collaborated with Goodman IT, Marketing, Merchandising and Digital Asset teams to help create a business case focused on three key pillars of value: Customer Acquisition, Customer Retention and Reduction in Risk & Costs.
“Ultimately, we selected Stibo Systems based on their proven expertise and success in product information management,” said Ken Landry, VP Information Technology at Goodman Manufacturing. “Their ability to demonstrate a typical ‘day in the life’ painted the perfect story line around how we could realize value from STEP now and into the future.”
MDM initiatives are increasingly being driven and owned by business units, and Goodman is no exception. Previously, data management projects and programs were managed internally with the collaboration of several departments. The Goodman team responsible for selecting Stibo Systems included representatives from IT, Marketing, and Product Distribution departments.
“Manufacturers are struggling to create and maintain a digital transformation strategy and provide their customers with the rich and highly accurate product information and digital content they expect; across the growing number of channels that are available,” said Todd Callen, Executive Vice President at Stibo Systems. “We look forward to helping Goodman Manufacturing streamline product information, automate processes and ensure that consuming systems are fed accurate, up-to-date information.”
