Brütsch/Rüegger Tools chooses Stibo Systems’ MDM solution

August 31, 2015 | Aarhus, Denmark

Aarhus, Denmark, 31 August 2015 – Stibo Systems, global leader in multi-domain Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, has announced that Swiss-based retailer Brütsch/Rüegger Tools has chosen its STEP platform to manage supplier data. The company already uses STEP to handle its 150,000-plus measurement, production and assembly tools, but has now expanded it to include supplier data.

Brütsch/Rüegger Tools introduced the solution in 2011, primarily to improve efficiency, and used it to adopt a multichannel strategy based on data quality and flexibility.

In 2014, recognising the advantages of STEP for product management, BRT joined the European Stibo Systems Lighthouse Programme with a view to using the software in other areas of its business. More than 900 suppliers have already been added to the database.

Key points

  • Brütsch/Rüegger Tools is an international retailer offering a comprehensive range of over 160,000 high-quality measurement, production, assembly and connection tools, standard parts and safety equipment for the manufacturing and construction sectors. Its brand is based on flexibility, growth, precision, innovation, customer focus and product availability alongside superior product and service quality. As the Swiss market leader, BRT exports worldwide, serving Germany through its subsidiary Adolf Pfeiffer GmbH, and eastern Europe via the Hungarian company BRW Tools Kft.
  • Its main business reason for implementing STEP was to improve legal compliance by ensuring full, seamless traceability for all suppliers’ product data.
  • Centralising highly dispersed information such as contracts, terms of business, certificates and declarations gives the company a clear overview of its suppliers. As well as improving data governance, it ensures that information is transparent and available throughout the organisation, while at the same time making the supply chain more efficient.
  • Centralised data will also make it easier to cross-reference suppliers and provide greatly simplified access to valuable information.

Quote from Brütsch/Rüegger Tools

“STEP is extremely flexible when it comes to importing, exporting and integrating data. This has saved us a lot of time adding new products, and enabled our publication team to annually produce 16 specifically targeted catalogues in the same time it took to previously produce a single printed one. STEP has become a core application for our business and we’re looking forward to being able to access all our strategic information in one place in the near future.” Arthur Immer, head of e-business and application engineering, Brütsch/Rüegger Tools

Quote from Stibo Systems
