Screwfix, Thomas Cook and Scotts and Co. discuss managing master data
Stibo Systems, a master data management software company, announced today that it has wound up its most successful European customer and partner event to date. There was record footfall at the two-day conference, which took place at The Belfry – spiritual home of the Ryder Cup and UK headquarters of the PGA.
Stibo Systems customers including Thomas Cook, Screwfix, Siemens, BSS and Scotts and Co. spoke to the assembled audience about the challenges of managing master data faced by global businesses in 2009.
Mark Smith, CEO of Ventana Research, opened the event with a glimpse of new research highlighting the importance and value of maintaining product information as a competitive differentiator.
Joining Stibo’s customers were partners including Bazaarvoice – international partnership director Hakan Thyr presented on ‘social commerce’ and how customer reviews and online feedback are integrating with product master data to change the way companies operate.
Also speaking were Jon Brooks, CEO of Datactics, on the issue of maintaining data quality, and James Doyan, from Athito, on the change management problems faced by businesses going through major software implementations. Other partners and event sponsors included 1SYNC, Adobe, ATG, Endeca and Platon.
“As budgets are ever more closely guarded, it’s critical for businesses to get the best possible value from their product information,” said Mark Thorpe, UK managing director for Stibo Systems. “This event was a great opportunity for our customers and partners to discuss master data management openly and honestly, in a stunning, world-famous setting.”
