Golden Copy

The term “golden copy” is used for expressing a valid version of a record in computing. In master data management, it’s used to describe a trusted copy of a master dataset or several master datasets where each real-world entity only appears once and attributes are made accurate and complete through master data survivorship rules.

The term “golden copy” is often used interchangeable with the term “master data hub.”

Having a golden copy is the foundation for achieving a single view of business partners, including having a single customer view (SVC).
