Customer Data Integration

Customer Data Integration

Customer data integration (CDI) is a precursor for achieving a single customer view, and the STEP platform paves the way for successful CDI.

Historically, organizations have struggled with aligning customer master data in desperate applications. Customer data integration, however, provides a single customer view in a single version of the truth.

In customer data integration, a customer data hub acts as the “golden copy” of all customer master data that is either born in other applications or created directly in the master data hub. Each real-world entity is ultimately represented in a golden record having the most relevant, complete and timely data known to your business.

CDI and Master Data Management

CDI is an important discipline within master data management. CDI includes a range of data management processes as:

  • Standardizing customer master data and mapping customer data elements to a metadata repository in order to improve data quality
  • Identity resolution and de-duplication often combined with exploiting external reference data in order to represent the real world as close as needed

Hierarchy management in order to reflect the complexity of the real world in the degree that fits your way of doing business

STEP for Customer Data Integration

STEP aids the customer data integration effort by offering a very flexible environment for collecting, linking, storing and exposing master data. Furthermore, data in STEP is handled in multiple contexts representing multiple countries and markets. This is essential when dealing with international customer data.

STEP also includes key features such as:

  • Advanced configurable automated data matching
  • User-friendly verification of dubious de-duplication and matching with external sources
  • Highly flexible features for building customer data relations
